2020 has been challenging year for almost everyone. SB 1223 is no exception.
With COVID- 19 came a reduced legislative agenda causing many Bills being tabled till 20201 if they were not directly related to Covid, Budget or Homelessness. SB 1223 was one of the bills put in stasis.
Senator Glazer is re-introducing the Mental health Awareness License Plate bill in December, 2020 with additional language to include funding a California Department of Education position to support the Wellness Center Program. We look forward tor legislative review and having a new Senate Bill number assigned.
This year we are proud to announce that State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond is supporting this bill. Over the next month or two we will be asking letters of support from individuals, organizations and public figures. This bill will bring tens of millions of dollars to student mental health in our state.
Please Donate - Advocate and Support as much as you can. We are always looking for like minded people to make a positive change in California.
